Rez Week, No Bridge Café This Week

If you walk by Gregory Gym plaza this week, you might find someone performing on a guitar, a huge art mural, some people selling lunch for $1, or even something crazy called “banarchy.” If so, you’ve found the spot for Rez Week. All week long people will be celebrating an early Easter (Easter is in April), and sharing the goodness and the message with others. This week we’re taking a break from The Bridge Café so that you can go check it out as well! Check out the facebook event for more info, and look on our facebook page for when to meet up with other Bridges people!

When: Thursday, March 27, 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.
Where: Gregory Plaza

The Bible: Gospel, Guide, or Garbage

The Veritas Forum: TOMORROW NIGHT!

We all have our ideas about what the Bible is and what it is good for, but how would one of the world’s foremost experts on it say about it? And, how would a philosopher respond? Join us as we co-sponsor a conversation between renowned New Testament scholar N.T. Wright and Dan Bonevac, a Professor of Philosophy at UT on the topic, “The Bible: Gospel, Guide, or Garbage,” followed by Q&A with students and faculty.

Bridges Valentine’s Party

Is Valentine’s Day one of those holidays for greeting card companies to make money off of naive sentimentalists, or is it really about letting those you love know how much they mean to you? I don’t know, but it’s a perplexing question isn’t it? In any case, we’re taking this opportunity to let you know how much you mean to us by having a Valentine’s Day party for you! There will some tasty Valentine’s treats, some fun activities to get to know each other, and an international music dance party in which you can learn a few dances too!

When: Saturday, February 15, 7:00 – 9:30 p.m.
Where: 1909 University Avenue (Longhorns for Christ Campus Center)

The Bridge Café: Cancelled this week

Too much of a good thing is… too much? Well, just in case it is, we’re cancelling The Bridge in lieu of having the Valentine’s Day party on Saturday night. We’ll resume The Bridge next week, same day, same time!

The Bridge Café

While the world may be going to Sochi, Russia for the Winter Olympics, we’re just going downstairs this week for The Bridge Café. Room 1.106, that’s where we’ll be. Although you won’t be able to try your luck at ice skating or curling, you will be able to test your nerves at a game of cards or warm up with some hot tea. Join us this week, and go for gold!

When: Thursday, February 6, 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.
Where: SAC (Student Activity Center) 1.106

How do you like these apples…?

Personally, I’m terrible at the game, but Apples to Apples is a great way to test how well you know people, even those you just met! Each week we gather at the SAC to get to know each other better, have some great snacks, and maybe learn something new! Whether it through a game like Apples to Apples or Uno, or just in conversation, The Bridge Café is always a great place for friends! We hope you can join us this week! Come at 7 and stay until 9, or just drop in to say “hi.” Your friends at The Bridge would love to see you, share some tea, and maybe even challenge you to a game of cards!

When: Thursday, January 23, 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.
Where: SAC (Student Activity Center) 2.120

Come at 7 and stay until 9, or just drop in to say “hi.” Your friends at The Bridge would love to see you, share some tea, and maybe even challenge you to a game of cards!
